A disappointing end to the season. However, two years ago we looked odds on being relegated and now we have finished 6th and 7th in successive seasons and reached a major European semi-final.

Hats off to Davey Moyes.........but why oh why will he not take a chance? With 20 minutes to go on Sunday at 1-1 just put Oko-Flex on ffs! We have no idea how good or bad this kid is? The Brighton match was the ideal opportunity to blood him in the Premier League as 7th place was already guaranteed. Brighton would not have had a scooby about him!

Do you go to the games or just watch on TV?

Because I base my opinion on the numerous mistakes I have seen Moyes serve up that has lost us points. Whether it be a wrong starting line up, wrong substitutions or subs at wrong times. Or, mainly, a lack of substitutions to stop the opponent getting back on top.

Now i don't know the actual numbers but I do know numerous times we dropped points from leading positions. I also know that we made no changes to players / shape when going behind. That's down to Moyes.

And I'm not getting into an argument about the ins and outs, ups and downs and rights and wrongs of it all because its all mainly hypothetical. But based on what I have seen this season in live home and away games, Moyes lack if impact on the game has cost us points and so I deduce that a better manager with same squad gets better results.

I do see the positives and what he has done well. And what he does well he does do very well. But he has limitations and his own performance issues. And when he calls the players out for poor performances, yet leaves Fornals on the pitch against Brighton for half an hour too long then he needs to wind his neck in.

Managers stock rises and falls, Eddie Howe was the best thing since sliced bread for a while at Bournemouth and then he got them relegated. Now he's done well at Newcastle. Potter is doing a good job at Brighton but you never know what's round the corner.

Would rather Steve Cooper from Forest than that loser Potter.

I must say i dont get the Potter hype....

Yes he is a decent manager but if he was foriegn i dont think anyone would bat an eyelid.

This season they started well and finished strong but he oversee 2 different periods in the league where they went 1 win in 12 and then 1 win in 8 including 6 straight defeats (4 of which at home).

Funny how peoples opinions differ. Spoke to a colleague today who is an Arsenal fan but he goes and watches Brighton as it's more local and he can't stand Arteta who he deems as useless. Says he wants Graham Potter at Arsenal as he is a top top Manager. Other Brighton fans I know suggest bar the last few games Brighton have served up some real dross this season and some don't rate Potter! Takes all types, same as on here!

It's fucking amusing people suggesting all these managers are better than Moyes when their clubs finished below us! These will be the same people who constantly slag off Soucek, Fornals, Dawson, Cresswell, Benrahma, Johnson, Antonio, Lanzini.

So this shit manager, with shit players, has got us to the semi finals of the Europa, knocked arguably the best team on the planet out of a cup they virtually owned and achieved two consecutive top seven finishes for the first time in our history.

Moyes is fucking ancient in comparison and has won fuck all in his 24 years of management.

Lage and Rodgers have won stuff and Potter is a brilliant young manager and will.

Those are the facts.

I'm saying on current form he isnt a better manager even with more money spent and a better squad than us.

Also, pound for pound, Rodgers has managed some of the richer clubs in the league, which is where he has won trophies.

Moyes had 1 stint at Man U for 10 months. Other than that, every club he's been at as barely spent any money.

This trophy haul comparison is so "YouTube" its ridiculous really. By definition , hardly any one in world football gets to win anything anyway, so that makes everyone shit... yeah, right.

Rodgers not a better manager than Moyes? What a load of shit.

Rodgers almost won the league with Liverpool (but for a Gerard slip), won numerous trophies with Celtic and won the FA Cup as recently as last season with Leicester.

What has Moyes ever won?

I'd take Rodgers over Moyes all day long.

Id keep Moyes over them any day. Rodgers has gone stale, Lage finished below us when we had Europe. Potter for me is most over rated in the league, did someone say 3rd worst home record in the league the other day? Was really struggling till they got those wins in North London. Frank got lucky with Eriksen, they were heading towards the drop without him.

"Potter, Frank, Rodgers, and Lage are all better managers than Moyes"

how exactly?

what factual evidence do you have for that?

I find it odd really, When Frank + Potter were getting spanked in the 1st part of the season everyone says their squads are shit, what do you expect. No one seems to remember that West Ham was nearly relegated 3 seasons ago with pretty much the same players!

On current form none of the above are better managers than Moyes.

Everyone expects that Potter etc. would do better at bigger clubs with more cash but thats all bollocks as well. More money more problems as the saying goes.

In a strange way, perhaps this loss will be the impetus for some serious transfer activity this summer. If we had qualified for Europe it might have been precursor of complacency. Now it is apparent we need some reinforcements and we cannot stand still.

Re: ⚽ Brighton v West Ham - Team for Brighton - Preview - Official Match Thread FT 3-1
Moyes has never won anything and probably won't ever.

Potter, Frank, Rodgers, and Lage are all better managers than Moyes. We were found out end of the PL season.

We'll struggle to get even 8th next season unless we heavily invest in beefing up the squad.

"In your opinion. There are at least half a dozen managers at clubs that finished below us that I think blow Moyes out the water. "

Thats why I said "objectively".

Your opinion is just a feeling that has no facts to back it up at all.
Moyes has 38 games to back it up, 2 seasons in a row and with a squad that on paper isnt that great either.

I actually wouldn't replace Moyes with any of the managers below him. not now. I dont see how it makes any sense.

On paper, pound for pound, he's the best manager in the country and has been for 2.5 seasons.
